World War II
During the first term of Year 5 we all travelled back in time to 1940! Once there we began to learn what life was really like for children during World War II. Dig for Victory!
Artefacts brought our learning to lifeOne of the many highlights of the term was the visit of a World War II Jeep. It was very exciting sitting in an original jeep which had played an active part during the Second World War. We also had the opportunity to handle and examine artefacts from the time. Have you ever worn a World War II helmet? We have!
The hard work began when we carefully selected vegetables from our learning garden ready to make a delicious home made soup. It tasted souper!
RAF Hendon
The pinnacle of our learning was our visit to RAF Hendon. It was exciting seeing the World War II aeroplanes, discovering hidden survival equipment and of course trying on the RAF uniforms!
Please revisit soon to see photos of our exciting learning!
